I was looking at some CES highlights and one thing (okay 2 things) were obvious to me. One: 3D TV’s but that’s not what this post is about, and Two: eBook Readers!
At CES this year, there were no less than 11 eBook Reader offerings. Here’s the breakdown:
- E6 and E101 – Samsung
- FLEPia – Fujitsu
- iRiver
- DMC Copia Reader
- Entourage eDge
- Alex eReader – Spring Designs
- Skiff
- Que – Plastic Logic
- Hanvon
- Amazon Kindle and Kindle DX (Now available on a Global scale)
- Intereads – Cool-ER
Wow! Add the rumored Apple tablet to that and that means lots of choices. Yes this might mean confusion, but with this kind of competition, it’s the consumer that wins out.
I am more an audiobook reader but I still wonder who will win out in the end.
Here’s a link to Macworld’s article which covers the basics on each.
Which one do you think will win? Do you agree that eBook Readers are the future of the publishing industry? Let me know what you think.
